Digital Story Start Up

So, I've made digital stories before, but only for friends and family.  I have never made one that included narration and am struggling a bit with this task.  It's tricky to talk at a rate that isn't too fast or too slow.  The storyboard helped a little, but when it came down to it, the timing of my plan was off so I had to go back to the drawing board.  For now, here's my sneak peek, no narration or sound yet :)

  2. I got the private thing too...but, you are farther ahead than I am! I will check back to see if I can view it. What is the basic story line ? Please post any "tricks" to story telling you think may be helpful.

  3. Sorry ladies, I made the video private because it includes photos of children that I do not have permission to publish. Essentially it is a video of our Egg Drop comptetion that we do at the end of every school year. I figured that this would be a great way to introduce the end project to the students. I'm going to try to add all of your gmail account emails so that you can view it. I don't really have any tricks other than make sure you click save on a regular basis, nothing like making changes and your computer freezing before you can save....

  4. Try it out now, I made it unlisted so only people that have the link can view the video, the "private" setting is too much for me to figure out this late!

    I liked your digital story. The kids must really enjoy this. Do you break the students into teams and determine the winner by the team whose egg doesn't break? Is the egg drop related to math and science?

  6. We break them into teams and they start by designing a plan first before they actually create. Unfortunately, I am usually so tied up in helping them with their designs I realized I have no pictures of that part of the process! I'm asking around to see if any other teachers do as that is a huge part of the activity. It has a lot of connections to both math and sciences as the symmetry to design is important and the entire trial and error of the task is directly related to science. The kids really look forward to it every year.
